The effect of excessive smoking is to induce nervous debility and to unfit the consumer for the performance of any duty requiring prolonged activity of mind. They smoke it. On the contrary, most smokers remain moderate. Perhaps 15% damage themselves to some extent by smoking, and if so ... moderation is the rule.
